planned to sell, rent or buy a property prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may
be uncertain whether or not to move forward with your plans and how to proceed.
There is no need for you to pull out of any agreements you have made and you
can move during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing you follow the correct
guidelines. Below we offer some top tips for moving during COVID-19.
1. Take additional photos of your home
If you are ready to move into your new property, but you still have an apartments for sale in Dubai, you may not be able to offer viewings to your apartment, so you should take as many pictures as possible of your property. For example, take pictures of what storage the property has and the garage space, to ensure people looking to purchase the property will be able to find all the information they need.
2. Pack cleaning supplies last
During the pandemic, it is essential every surface you touch is sanitized. If you are not able to push back your moving date and you have found the perfect apartments for rent in City walk, ensure you pack cleaning supplies last. You should also carry a small supply of cleaning supplies with you so when you enter your new property, the first thing you can do is clean all the surfaces.
3. Arrange a contact-free handover
Whether you are delivering the keys of your home to a new owner, or picking up the keys to your new home, ensure any key exchanges are contact-free. For example, you may wish to post keys through a letterbox. You should then sanitize your keys and wash your hands.
4. Handle the move yourself
While you may have been planning to use a moving company or asking friends and family to help you move into your apartments for sale in Business Bay, due to social distancing restrictions it is important you complete the move with the members of your household only. This may take slightly longer than you expected, but it is worth it to ensure your safety.
5. Make sure you have hand soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available for yourself and crew members
To protect everyone during a move, yourself, crew and drivers should be washing hands using anti-bacterial soap for 20 seconds and at regular intervals. The crew will be adhering to our CDC-compliant sanitation policies, but in an abundance of caution, please make sure you have some available as well to make it as easy as possible.
Additionally, we ask that you please disinfect commonly touched areas such as doorknobs and handles before the moving crew arrives to your home. This will help protect you and your family as well as our moving team.
6. Donate food you don’t need to local area charities
While many people are stocking up on food and supplies while social distancing, there are many people and families who cannot.
Since your move is charged by weight, this is a win-win – you are shedding moving weight you don’t need, and you’re able to help supply local area charities with much needed food and other goods.
Through all of this, remember that we will get through this as a community. If you feel uncomfortable or scared to move, ask us about postponement. We are happy to work with you.
Of course, local law enforcement is the determining voice in this discussion – the safest thing we can all do is to make sure we follow the direct orders of local officials and continue to monitor communications.
