The Kennedy Winter White House got into the news when it was sold for 31 million dollars in 1995. This well known “Winter White House” of John and Jacqueline Kennedy, this 1923 Mediterranean-style villa, perched above 200 feet of prime Atlantic coastline in Palm Beach, Florida, has been reimagined through a careful top-down overhaul and the new look is just stunning.
As per The Kennedy Family, by Scott Cooper Florida, The property was not in very good shape when the new owner of the home purchased it. The owner with the help of Design firm Pembrooke & Ives brought a new life to an iconic oceanfront estate in Palm Beach through the addition of color and light. The house was updated by installing new windows, French doors, and the conversion of a garage into a foyer.
The home faces the sea with an unobstructed view down the coast in both directions. The Kennedy House is the only residence in Palm Beach with a bump-out in its sea wall and it may be a special accommodation made for the Kennedys.
As per the new owner of the home, “This house is part of the rich history of Palm Beach—it is fun to think of all the people who have spent time here and have walked these halls,”. There are many things associated with President Kennedy with the home. This home is also the place where President Kennedy is said to have formed his cabinet. The president has written Profiles in Courage and his inauguration speech and spent one of his last nights in this home before his assassination in Dallas.
The new owner believes that he is creating his own history by upgrading the home. They have kept the original architecture but upgraded the color and interior of the home.
The house is now loaded with an impressive collection of art and a bold design scheme. A special consultant was hired to help with the art and design collections.
